1. States Requiring Titles for All Trailers
These states require a title for any trailer, regardless of size or weight:
States: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming

States: Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Ohio, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin

In these states, you usually need a title for trailers used for business. For trailers used for business. You may not need a title for personal trailers.
States: Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania
